Diamond Purvis, a 19-year-old African American woman, was tragically found dead on November 13, 2020, in Macon, Georgia. Her body was discovered along with that of 31-year-old Sidney Bishop in the woods between Kings Park Subdivision and Hitchcock Road. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office reported that it appeared to be a murder-suicide, with Bishop shooting Purvis before turning the gun on himself. This incident marked Macon's 44th homicide and 28th suicide of the year.
