Jamel Griffin, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on August 15, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. The incident occurred on Samson Avenue, where Griffin was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 9:06 a.m. at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital. The Muscogee County Deputy Coroner, Charles Newton, confirmed his death, and his body was subsequently transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for an autopsy.
