On a summer evening in Columbus, Georgia, the life of 18-year-old Richard Vaughn 'R.J.' Cummings Jr. was tragically cut short. The recent Carver High School graduate and respected athlete had his future ahead of him, with plans to start college. On Friday, July 14, 2017, he died from a gunshot wound in what was described as a devastating accident among friends.
