In the quiet community of Riverdale, Georgia, the life of 41-year-old Tasha Patterson was brought to a tragic and violent end in March of 2022. A native of New Jersey, Ms. Patterson was discovered deceased in the carport of her home on Mockingbird Trail. The grim discovery was made on a Friday morning by a neighbor who immediately alerted the authorities. When Clayton County police officers arrived, they found Ms.
Patterson in a pool of blood, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation into her death quickly focused on her live-in boyfriend, 42-year-old Mallie Levaugh McFadden. Investigators determined that a physical altercation between the couple had escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. It was reported that their relationship had a history of volatility. After the incident, McFadden fled the residence before law enforcement and paramedics could arrive.
Following a four-day manhunt, authorities located and arrested Mallie McFadden. He was subsequently charged with a litany of serious offenses, including malice murder, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence. An additional charge of firearm used by a convicted felon was also brought against him. Following his arrest, McFadden was taken into custody at the Clayton County jail and was held without bond. In the wake of this tragedy, Tasha Patterson's family mourned the loss of a woman they described as vivacious and full of life. They initiated a GoFundMe campaign to transport her body back to New Jersey for burial near her late daughter.
