The incident took place at a residence on Monarch Drive in Riverdale. Mosquera was a mother and grandmother, remembered by her family as a kind-hearted woman who was always willing to lend a hand to others.
She was the owner of Lucky Mi Boutique located on Highway-138 in Riverdale.
Authorities have arrested Mitchell Ellis in connection with the fatal shooting. Ellis was identified as Mosquera's boyfriend. He is currently being held at the Clayton County Jail and is facing multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.
Mosquera's family, including her mother and sister, have publicly expressed their profound grief over her death. They are seeking justice for their loved one and have expressed their hope that Ellis will be held fully accountable for his alleged actions. A memorial service to honor Malika Mosquera's life was planned to be held at the Riverdale Town Center.
