A Black man, Harold Irving, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Jonesboro, Georgia, on April 14, 2022. The 36-year-old was driving his black Jeep Cherokee when a gray Kia Soul pulled alongside him at a red light on S. Main Street and Betty Tallmadge Avenue. Gunshots were fired from the rear passenger side of the Kia, striking Irving. He was transported to Southern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to his back left side.
