In the autumn of 2022, a domestic dispute in Dublin, Georgia, escalated to a fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 44-year-old Kerry Okeef Evans. On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Evans was shot once in the chest outside a residence on Musgrove Street. He died at the scene.
Born in Atlanta on July 13, 1978, Kerry Evans had relocated to East Dublin in 2018. He was a father of three children. His life was cut short in a violent encounter that led to a swift arrest.
The Laurens County Sheriff's Office took Louis Kemp Jr. into custody in connection with the shooting. Kemp Jr. was subsequently charged with murder and booked into the Laurens County jail. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was also called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly dispute. Following his death, funeral services for Kerry Evans were held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Jordan Grove Christian Center in East Dublin.
