In the early morning hours of Christmas Day, 2021, the life of 38-year-old Charles Stephen Holmberg was tragically cut short in Dublin, Georgia. The Cuthbert man was discovered deceased inside his vehicle, which was parked at the Super 8 Hotel on US-441. An investigation quickly determined that Holmberg had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist the Dublin Police Department with the case. Their investigation pointed to a suspect with whom Holmberg had a personal connection. It was revealed that he was in a relationship with Alyssa Danielle Wild, a 29-year-old from East Dublin.
Two days after the discovery of Holmberg's body, a significant development occurred in the case. On December 27, 2021, Alyssa Danielle Wild was apprehended during a traffic stop in Franklin, Tennessee. Following her arrest, she was charged with the murder of Charles Stephen Holmberg. At the time of her arrest, she was being held in the Williamson County Jail in Tennessee, with authorities indicating that additional charges were pending.
