A fun-loving young man with an infectious smile, Joshua Allen Miller’s life was cut short in Dublin, Georgia. On the night of Sunday, September 4, 2022, the 24-year-old was discovered inside a car at the intersection of Academy Avenue and Kingsby Street. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Emergency crews responded to what was initially reported as a car crash, but it soon became clear that a violent act had preceded the wreck. Miller was rushed to Fairview Park Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Born on September 10, 1997, Joshua was known for his humor and his ability to make others laugh. He was an employee at Sunshine Mills and was educated in Dublin City Schools. His death, which occurred just a week before his 25th birthday, left his family and friends devastated. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, and a father to his son, Micah.
The Dublin Police Department launched a murder investigation into Miller’s death. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots just before his car crashed.
