In the winter of 2022, the life of 44-year-old Marcus Spellers, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Columbus, Georgia. On the morning of Wednesday, December 21, police officers responded to a call concerning a body discovered on the ground on Liberty Avenue. Upon their arrival at approximately 10:20 a.m., they found Spellers suffering from gunshot wounds.
