On September 10, 2023, 26-year-old Mardarrius Collier was fatally shot in the 4000 block of Oates Avenue in Columbus, Georgia. Emergency responders transported him to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus Emergency Room, where he was pronounced dead at 3:21 p.m.
