In the late afternoon of February 22, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace at Carver Park in Columbus, Georgia, leaving a young life hanging in the balance. Sixteen-year-old Corey Jones, an African American male, was found by police with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Piedmont Columbus Regional hospital and admitted to the ICU, where he fought for his life for three days.
