Cornelius Swopshire, a 65-year-old African American man from Memphis, Tennessee, was tragically shot and killed on Mother's Day, May 13, 2018. Swopshire was found unresponsive in a field near Wilson and Tulane around 9 a.m. that morning. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
