Herbert Stanley "Stan" Burk III, aged 49, was tragically killed on December 29, 1996, in Elmwood, Louisiana. Burk, who was a Navy veteran, died under circumstances that have remained difficult for his loved ones and community. He was survived by numerous family members, including his children and siblings, who have shared tributes to him over the years to keep his memory alive.
