Who killed Delrico Lamont Anderson? On the evening of March 13, 2006, a burst of violence shattered the night in Alexandria, Louisiana, claiming the life of 23-year-old Delrico Lamont Anderson, a Black male. Anderson was driving on Third Street when another vehicle pulled up alongside his car. Suddenly, gunshots rang out, fired from the other vehicle directly into Anderson's car, striking and fatally wounding him.
The ambush was swift, leaving a young life extinguished in its wake.
In the immediate aftermath and for years to come, the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office has sought information from the public regarding the shooting. Despite their appeals for any witnesses or individuals with knowledge to come forward, the investigation has yet to yield any significant breakthroughs. To this day, the case remains a cold case, a painful and unresolved chapter for Anderson's family and the community. No arrests have ever been made in connection with his murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
Delrico Lamont Anderson was survived by his daughter, Le'Asia, his father, Bennie, and a large family of eight sisters and seven brothers. His funeral services were held at the Greater Grace Temple, with Bishop Gary Harper officiating. The community continues to hold out hope that one day justice will be served, and the individuals responsible for his untimely death will be held accountable for their actions as the search for answers continues.
