Mohammad Jawad Ataie, a 57-year-old resident of Antioch, California, tragically lost his life on July 3, 2017. Ataie was working as a clerk at a Valero gas station on Hillcrest Avenue when he was fatally shot during a robbery. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM when a man, later identified as 42-year-old Zepp Crouchet from El Cerrito, entered the gas station, pistol-whipped Ataie, and then shot him.
