Juan Antonio Ruiz, a 28-year-old resident of Santa Cruz, California, tragically lost his life on July 28, 2020, in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the early afternoon as Ruiz was a passenger in a Mercedes sedan traveling southbound on Mission Street. According to reports, a second vehicle with tinted windows approached the Mercedes near the intersection of Mission Street and Fair Avenue.
