David Allan Oliker, born on July 26, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, tragically lost his life on February 10, 1973, in Santa Cruz, California, at the age of 18. His death was a result of a brutal murder committed by Herbert Mullin, a notorious serial killer. Mullin, who was wandering around Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, encountered David and three other teenagers—Robert Michael Spector, Brian Scott Card, and Mark John Dreibelbis—who were camping in the park.
