In the early morning hours of Monday, September 29, 2014, David Turner, a 61-year-old Black / African American man, was found shot to death in eastern New Orleans. A native of the city, he was known as a good and well-loved man. He was a former deacon, a poster worker, and a hardworking businessman. His friends and family remember him as a master chess player, often found contemplating the board with close companions.
