In the pre-dawn hours of a Tuesday in late July of 2014, the life of Siddell Grant, a 29-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short by gunfire in New Orleans. The incident that claimed his life unfolded at 3039 Edith Weston Place, a residence in a city that was at the time grappling with a significant wave of street violence that disproportionately affected young African-American men.
