On an autumn evening in New Orleans, the life of 17-year-old Jyran Johnson, a male junior at L.B. Landry High School, was tragically cut short. On October 6, 2025, in the Algiers neighborhood, Johnson was found with gunshot wounds in the 3700 block of Texas Drive, not far from his home. He was discovered by police around 8 p.m. near an apartment complex, still dressed in his school uniform. Despite the immediate response from law enforcement, Johnson succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
