In the summer of 2016, a promising life was tragically cut short in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans. Stephen Videl Ragas Sr., a 33-year-old man, was found deceased on Friday, June 24, 2016. The cause of his untimely death was the violent reality of gun violence, a scourge that has claimed too many lives. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Algiers, a community steeped in the unique culture and history of New Orleans.
