On a Sunday night in October 2013, the life of 31-year-old Phillip “Fila Phil” Elmor Joseph was tragically cut short in the St. Bernard area of New Orleans. The shooting occurred at approximately 10 p.m. in the 3400 block of Paris Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Joseph, shirtless and lying in the street in front of a vacant lot.
