David Guttenberg, a 49-year-old NYPD Patrolman, tragically lost his life on December 28, 1978, in New York, NY. On that fateful day, Officer Guttenberg walked into an auto body shop near the corner of 86th Street and Seventh Avenue to check on a double-parked vehicle. Unbeknownst to him, a robbery was in progress inside the shop. As he entered, he was shot and killed by the robber.
