On July 31, 2016, 41-year-old Demetrius McLaurin was shot and killed in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident occurred around 12:49 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Jefferson Street in the Russell neighborhood. McLaurin was found after running to the area, having been shot at an undetermined location.
