George Scheu, a 42-year-old police officer from Queens, NY, tragically lost his life on July 16, 1987. Officer Scheu was off duty and preparing to attend a Naval Reserves training session when he noticed suspicious activity near his home on Murray Street in Flushing. A thief was attempting to break into a car, and Scheu, ever the dedicated officer, decided to intervene.
