Carmine Varriale, aged 30, was tragically killed on September 3, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York. His death was a result of a gangland-style shooting, which also claimed the life of Frank Santoro, an associate in the Colombo crime family. The incident occurred as the two men were walking in front of a dry cleaner's in a quiet residential neighborhood. The gunman fled the scene in a car immediately after the shooting.
