Corrections Officer Arturo M. Meyers, aged 42, tragically lost his life on June 17, 1993, in Brooklyn, New York. Officer Meyers, who had dedicated 19 years of service to the New York City Department of Correction, was off duty at the time of his death. The incident occurred at the corner of Georgia and Sutter Avenues, where Meyers intervened in a heated argument between a man and a woman.
