On November 16, 1995, Regina M. Savage died from a fatal gunshot wound. Her life was taken by her own husband, who would later plead guilty to the crime of manslaughter in the second degree.

Following an investigation into the shooting, her husband was charged in her death. By pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter, he admitted to recklessly causing his wife's death.
