Joseph Daniel McIntire, a 59-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, May 23, 2015, in the Tulane-Gravier neighborhood of New Orleans. The incident occurred at the intersection of Conti and North Tonti streets. He was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Initially, the investigation into McIntire's death did not immediately lead to the identification of a suspect. For several years, the case remained unsolved, leaving family and friends without answers. However, a break in the case eventually came, leading to the arrest of a suspect.
Carlos Heard was subsequently identified and arrested in connection with the murder of Joseph McIntire. Following his arrest, Heard was charged with second-degree murder. The legal proceedings against him commenced, and he was ultimately convicted of the crime. After his conviction, Carlos Heard was sentenced to life in prison.
