In the Seventh Ward of New Orleans, a neighborhood with its own unique rhythm and history, the morning of March 6, 2010, brought a grim discovery. On a sidewalk in the 1900 block of North Dorgenois Street, the body of Adrian Tate was found. A 46-year-old African-American man, Tate's life was abruptly ended, and the circumstances immediately pointed to a violent demise. The New Orleans Police Department was called to the scene and promptly opened a homicide investigation into his death.
