Detective Rodney J. Andrews, aged 34, tragically lost his life on March 10, 2003, during an undercover operation in Staten Island, New York. Andrews, along with his partner Detective James V. Nemorin, was involved in a buy-and-bust operation targeting illegal firearms. The operation took a deadly turn when the detectives attempted to purchase a Tech-9 submachine gun from a suspect.
