Deputy Sheriff Kurt Brian Wyman, aged 24, tragically lost his life on June 7, 2011, in Knoxboro, New York. Wyman, a dedicated officer with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, was responding to a domestic disturbance call when the incident occurred. The situation escalated into a standoff, with the suspect, Christian Patterson, barricading himself in a garage with a shotgun.
