In the light of a Syracuse day, the life of 19-year-old Marquell Givens was brought to an abrupt and violent end. On November 18, 2014, while walking down a street with three other individuals, Givens was fatally shot in the back of the head. The suddenness of the act left a community in shock and a family grappling with an unbearable loss. The male victim's death would quickly become the subject of an intense police investigation aimed at bringing the person responsible to justice.
