Death by Force

On June 16, 2024, at approximately 2:26 a.m., Syracuse Police responded to a shots-fired call in the 4100 block of South Salina Street, near Valley Plaza. Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Jamar Mack, who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A short time later, a 34-year-old man arrived at Crouse Hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries and is expected to survive.
