Luis Armondo Sepulveda, a 21-year-old man from Syracuse, New York, was killed in a double homicide on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. A resident of Syracuse for his entire life, he was a graduate of Henninger High School. Those who knew him described him as a quiet young man who enjoyed making his family and friends smile.
On the afternoon of June 20th, at approximately 4:11 PM, Syracuse Police responded to a call of a shooting at 158 Lynwood Avenue in the Eastwood neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, identified as Luis Sepulveda and 28-year-old Christopher McLaurin, were pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
An investigation was launched by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Syracuse Police Department. Detectives conducted a canvass of the neighborhood, interviewed several individuals, and reviewed evidence from the scene. Their investigation led them to identify a vehicle used by the suspect. On Monday, June 25th, detectives located the vehicle at 113 Breakspear Road in the Town of Geddes and received information that the suspects were inside the residence.
After the suspects initially refused to exit the home, the area was secured by law enforcement. A short time later, two individuals emerged from the residence and were taken into custody without incident. The suspects were identified as 24-year-old Treamon J. Elmore and a 13-year-old male. Both were charged with two counts of Murder in the second degree, Robbery in the first degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree. The 13-year-old was also charged in connection with a separate incident that occurred on June 16th. Following their arrests, Elmore was booked at the Onondaga County Justice Center, and the 13-year-old was taken to the Hillbrook Detention Center.
