In the summer of 2020, the life of 24-year-old Draquan R. 'Draskii' McDonald was cut short by an act of gun violence in Syracuse, New York. On the evening of July 26th, on Park Street in the vicinity of Washington Square Park, McDonald was shot in the back. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries, becoming another victim in a wave of violence that troubled the city.

identification of multiple suspects. The case drew particular attention due to the young age of one of the individuals believed to be involved. Angel Rosario, who was just 15 years old at the time, was arrested and charged with McDonald's murder. Another man, Jonathen Sanchez, was also identified and taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. Law enforcement indicated that Sanchez was one of three individuals who fired upon McDonald.
