In the late hours of May 20, 2015, Herbert Goodnight, a 60-year-old Black male, was shot and killed inside an apartment located at 369 First Street in Albany, New York. Police responded to the scene around 11:15 p.m. and found Goodnight, who was pronounced dead at the location. This incident marked the third homicide in the city within a few weeks, causing concern among local residents and officials.
