Death by Force

On October 8, 2023, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Albany police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of North Swan Street and Third Street. Upon arrival, officers found evidence consistent with gunfire. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Rakeem Charleston of Albany, had sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
