Senior Special Agent John Francis Capano tragically lost his life on December 31, 2011, in Seaford, New York. Capano, who served with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for 23 years, was off duty at the time of the incident. He was inside Charlie's Family Pharmacy on Merrick Road when a robbery occurred. The suspect, a recently released convicted felon, entered the pharmacy and demanded OxyContin and cash.
