In the early hours of September 16, 2020, the life of 52-year-old James Sumner Jr. was tragically cut short in a violent encounter at the Colonial Park Apartments in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Officers responded to a call of a shooting at the complex, located near 21st and Memorial, around 1:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Sumner with a gunshot wound to his chest.
