In the final days of 2018, a dispute at a Tulsa, Oklahoma apartment complex tragically escalated, ending the life of 26-year-old Louis Poole. On the evening of December 29th, an argument broke out, culminating in gunfire. Poole was discovered outside the Riviera West Apartments, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, a victim of the violent encounter.
The investigation into the shooting quickly identified two individuals, 33-year-old La'shae
Terrell and 42-year-old Kenneth 'Jazzie' Williams, as persons of interest. Believing the pair had fled the state, law enforcement agencies began a multi-state search. The U.S. Marshals Service tracked the suspects to Maize, Kansas, a suburb of Wichita. There, they were found staying with an associate at the Fieldstone Apartments.
On January 3, 2019, authorities moved in and arrested both Terrell and Williams without incident. They were taken into custody and held at the Sedgwick County jail on fugitive from justice charges, awaiting extradition to Oklahoma to face first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of Louis Poole. The individual who had been housing them was also arrested on unrelated charges.
