In the a late Friday night in the Bronx, a 23-year-old man named Buriama Sillah lost his life to gun violence. The incident took place on July 19, 2024, at approximately 11:31 p.m. behind a building at 1100 Teller Avenue. Sillah was privately transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln after sustaining a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced deceased.
According to the investigation, an unidentified individual in a black SUV is believed to
have fired the single, fatal shot before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. The New York Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward and has provided several ways for the public to submit tips, including their Crime Stoppers hotline and mobile app, assuring that all information will be kept confidential.
