On the evening of April 8, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., Anthony Barlow, a 50-year-old resident of Sutter Avenue in Brooklyn, was fatally shot near the intersection of Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sutter Avenue in the Brownsville neighborhood. Responding officers from the 73rd Precinct found Barlow with a gunshot wound to the chest. Alongside him was a 41-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
