On a Friday afternoon in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, 16-year-old Timothy Oyebola was enjoying a game of basketball with his friends at the Chester Playground. The date was September 21, 2018, and the spirited game was abruptly shattered by the sound of gunfire. A bullet struck the young Nigerian-American man in the head, and despite being rushed to Brookdale Hospital, his life could not be saved.
