On the night of June 16, 2024, at approximately 11:05 p.m., 32-year-old Tyreek Ogarro was fatally shot inside the Brevoort Houses, a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) complex located at 254 Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Responding to a 911 call reporting a person shot, officers from the 81st Precinct arrived to find Ogarro suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.
