On a Tuesday evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 17-year-old Eddie Mason Jr. was standing outside his home on Bradley Street when his life was tragically cut short. It was around 9 p.m. on July 19, 2016, when a vehicle passed by, and someone inside opened fire, striking the teenager. Eddie later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the shooting.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Baton Rouge Police Department began an investigation, but initially, there was no known motive, and no suspects were identified. The authorities appealed to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest in the fatal drive-by shooting.
For a long time, the case remained without a public resolution. However, a suspect, Carlos Heard, was eventually charged with the murder of Eddie Mason Jr.
