Darren Derroid Smart, aged 18, was tragically killed on September 15, 2011, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Darren, affectionately known as "Dude," was a senior at Istrouma High School and was well-loved by his classmates and teachers. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, and his sudden death left a significant void in his community.
