On the night of May 5, 2023, Juandell Miller, a 32-year-old African American male, was fatally shot at a Circle K gas station located at the intersection of Burbank Drive and Bluebonnet Boulevard in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 9:48 p.m. According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Miller was near the gas pumps when a vehicle approached, and an individual fired multiple shots from an AK-style firearm.
