In the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm on February 4, 2014. When police arrived at E. 93rd Street between Avenues K and L shortly after 6 p.m., they found 19-year-old Nicholas Walton on the ground with two gunshot wounds to his chest. Paramedics rushed the young man, a resident of East Flatbush, to Brookdale Hospital, but his injuries were too severe. Walton, a male, was pronounced dead upon arrival.
